AMENDING TITLE 15 OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CODE PERTAINING TO
THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE.
that:

ORDINANCE NO. 81 -27 -0 (A)
BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
Section 1. Chapter 15.08 is hereby amended by adding
Section 15.08.030, to read:
Section 15.08.030 Uniform Building Code Section 2505
Amended. A. Ungraded locally manufactured lumber may be used in
the construction of one- and two -story dwellings and accessory
buildings.
B. Ungraded locally manufactured lumber may be used in
agricultural and other multi- storied buildings if the construction
drawings submitted for approval with the application for a
(building permit contain a certification from an engineer
!registered in the State of Alaska that the design stresses have
been analyzed for the use of ungraded Sitka Spruce.
Section 2. This ordinance shall become effective
upon passage.

PERTAINING TO THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that:
Section 1. Section 15.08 is hereby amended by adding Section
15.08.030 to read:
Section 15.08.030 Adopted. Locally manufactured lumber may be
used in the construction of one and two story dwellings, barns, sheds,
agricultural, and accessory buildings and other low stress uses. Section 2505
of the Uniform Building Code notwithstanding.
