AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
;DELEGATING TO INCORPORATED HOME RULE, FIRST AND SECOND CLASS
CITIES WITHIN THE BOROUGH AUTHORITY TO ADOPT AND ADMINISTER
PLATTING REGULATIONS WITHIN THEIR CORPORATE LIMITS.
WHEREAS, the Borough Assembly finds Title 2
g Y 29, Alaska
State Statutes, Section 2 9.33.070 (b)(2) authorizes the Borough
;Assembly to delegate Planning and Zoning Administrative and en-
,forcement responsibilities to Cities within the Borough providin
"Borough jurisdiction is not impaired. And; g
WHEREAS, the Borough Assembly finds that the standards
for subdivision developments are substantially different in urban,
'suburban and rural areas. And;
WHEREAS, the Assembly finds that City's y d Y's off times wish
to have their own adopted improvement standards applied to sub-
division development within their jurisdiction in addition to the
more
general development standards of the Borough. And;
WHEREAS, to avoid any confusion on the part of developers
as to what development and design criteria may be applied to sub -
divisions within Cities. The Borough Assembly finds Cities within
the Borough may wish to assume subdivision platting authority
within their corporate
jurisdictions.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Y Kodiak Island

platting regulations within their corporate limits upon completion .
iof the following requirements, all of which must be completed and
, presented to the Assembly for review and approval prior to the

:transfer of power taking place.
1. Passage of an Ordinance adopting subdivision
platting authority within the City.
2. Passage of an Ordinance adopting subdivision
(Platting) regulations equal to or more stringent than those
of the Kodiak Island Borough.
3. Appointment by the City of an individual re-
sponsible for administration and enforcement of the City's
subdivision regulations.
4. Appointment of a Platting Board responsible
for review and approval of subdivision plats as set forth
in Title 29 Alaska State Statutes Sections 29.33.160
