AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
EXPANDING THE BUSINESS DISTRICT TO ENCOMPASS LOT 39, BLOCK 2, ERSKINE
SUBDIVISION
WHEREAS, ALASKA STATUTES 29.33.090 empowers the Borough
to enact a Zoning Ordinance and provide for its administration,
enforcement and amendments, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has pursuant thereto
adopted Chapter 17, of its Code of Ordinances and Resolutions which
provides for planning and zoning provisions and procedures, and
WHEREAS, According to the Comprehensive Planning and Zoning
Map adopted by the Kodiak Island Borough, Lot 39, Block 2, Erskine
Subdivision has been zoned R -3,. and
WHEREAS, a petition has been received from the property
owners of Lot 39, Block 2, Erskine Subdivision requesting same to
be rezoned to Business for future development of a Senior Citizens'
Project, and
WHEREAS, the Petition was considered and approved by the
Planning and Zoning Commission on the 16th day of June, 1976, and said
body has recommended the reclassification of said property from R -3 to
Business.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the Borough Assembly of
the Kodiak Island Borough that the property described as:
Lot 39, Block 2, Erskine Subdivision
BE AND THE SAME is hereby reclassified as Business and that
notice of this ordinance be given by publication in the Kodiak MIRROR
seven days prior to the second reading and public hearing; that the
public hearing be held thereon on the date of the second reading and
that this ordinance shall be in full effect at the time of adoption.

parcels of land. Easements for terminal access streets shall be
not less than 20 feet in width and the streets shall be brought
to the appropriate grade and surfaced to a minimum width of 15 fee
(c) The cross - section of construction shall contain nonfrost
susceptible material to the depth of 42 inches for appropriate
grade, and in the absence of any other specified depth by appli-
cable standard specifications of the borough. Such construction
shall be subject to inspection and approval by the borough
engineer or his equivalent under contract by the borough, and
shall comply with all applicable borough standards for constructio
