ORDINANCE NUMBER 76 -4-0
AN ORDINANCE OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH ESTABLISHING A PLANNING DEPARTMENT AND ADDING A
SECTION TO THE BOROUGH CODE
WHEREAS, the Assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough
wishes to amend the Borough Code to add a new section
Creating a Planning Department,
BE IT ORDAINED that Title 2 of the Borough Code
is hereby amended by adding a new section to read:
Title 2. Chapter 2.26 PLANK ING DEPARTMENT
Section 2.26.010 ORGANIZATION: There is hereby created a
Borough Planning Department. The principal Officer of the
Planning Department shall be a Director appointed by the
Mayor.
Section 2.26.020 POWERS AND DUTIES: The Planning Department
shall assist the Planning Commission and provide associated
services as directed by the Mayor, which may include but not
limited to:
(1) Provision of administrative, investigative,
research and similar services to the Planning
Commission and Assembly related to capital improvements!,
platting, zoning, transportation, property acquisition
and development, and land use planning, including
coordination with other governmental agencies in the
development of departmental programs.
(2) Administration of the planning and zoning
ordinances of the Borough and the regulations of the
Planning Commission.
(3) Completion of surveys, maps, plans and reports
as directed by the Planning Commission.

This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval as required by law.
Notice of this ordinance shall be given publication in the
KODIAK MIRROR, seven (7) days prior to the second reading
and a public hearing shall be held on the date of the second
reading and that this Ordinance become effective at the
time of adoption.
ATTEST:
(4) Review of applications for and completion of
recommendations, zoning changes, appeals, exceptions,
plats, replats and other matters submitted to the
Planning Commission.
(5) Other activities necessary or appropriate to
the exercise of the planning and zoning function of
the Borough.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY,
KODIAK, ALASKA, PROVIDING FOR THE SALE OF INTOXICATING
LIQUOR ON ELECTION DAY AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NUMBER
73 -4 -0 (PORTION OF) AND KIB CODE 2.04.210, WHICH PROHIBITS
THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WITHIN THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH ON ELECTION DAY
BE IT ORDAINED BY the Assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough
as follows:
Section I . Section 04.15.020 (c) Alaska Statutes, which prohibits
the sales of intoxicating liquor on election day shall not apply within
the Kodiak Island Borough when elections are being held.
Section 2. Ordinance Number 73-4-0 adopted the 1st day of
March, 1973, portion thereof, which amended Chapter 2 of the prior
code and when codified as KIB 2.04.210 to prohibit the sale of
alcoholic beverages within the Kodiak Island Borough on election
day is hereby repealed.
