KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
ORDINANCE NO. 75 -22_0
AN ORDINANCE APPROVING PROPOSED JOB CLASSIFICATIONS AND PAY
RATE SCALES.
WHEREAS, the Intergovernmental Personnel Programs Division
of the Civil Service Commission has prepared a technical assist-
ance project report entitled "The Proposed Classification and Pay
Plans for Kodiak Island Borough "; and,
WHEREAS, that report has been reviewed and considered by the
Mayor of the Kodiak Island Borough and the classifications and
pay plan set forth therein have been recommended to the assembly
for adoption,
NOW THEREFORE, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly hereby
ordains:
SECTION 1. The occupational classes, based upon distingu-
ishing factors, typical work functions, applicant prerequisites
and working titles for positions designated as Department Assist-
ant I, Department Assistant II, Borough Clerk- Treasurer, Borough
Planner and Borough Assessor, as set forth in the attached portion
of the appendix to the report entitled "The Proposed Classifica-
tion and Pay Plans for Kodiak Island Borough" are hereby adopted
as the position classification plan for the Kodiak Island Borough.
SECTION 2. The schedule I of the above - referenced report
entitled "Schedule of Pay Ranges for 40 -Hour Work Week In Monthly
and Hourly Amounts" for pay ranges numbers 1 through 29 is hereby
adopted as the schedule of pay ranges for employees of the Kodiak
Island Borough.
SECTION 3. Employees of the Kodiak Island Borough shall be
compensated based upon the following schedule of positions, classes,

pay ranges and steps utilizing the "Schedule of Pay Ranges for
40 -Hour Work Week In Monthly and Hourly Amounts" as adopted by
Section 2 of this Ordinance.

SECTION 4. Ordinance No. 75 -19 0 is hereby amended by sub-
stituting the salaries, as set forth in this ordinance by position,
for the salaries for those positions previously established by
that ordinance and appropriating so much of the Reserve for Salar ""
Increases established in account number 144.02 as is necessary t
meet those salary increases.
SECTION 5. Salary increases authorized by this ordinance
shall be retroactive to July 1, 1975, or to their date of hire if
subsequent to that date, for all persons employed by the borough
in the specified positions on the effective date of this ordinance
