1975-16 Relating to the Composition and Reapportionment of the Assembly of the K.I.B1 1 1 1 ¶% '1 1 I 1 2 S KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ORDINANCE NO. 75 -16 -0 AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE COMPOSITION AND REAPPORTIONMENT OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly hereby ordains: *SECTION 1. Section 2.16.010 of the Kodiak Island Borough Code of Ordinances is repealed and reenacted to read: 216.010 Composition. A. The borough assembly consists of seven members. Four members shall be elected at large from within the city and three members shall be elected from the borough area outside the city as follows: 1. One member at large from the area outside the City of Kodiak. 2. One member from the area within Mission Road Precinct No. 7 which generally includes Spruce Cape, Island ' /L •fli u/Ai Lake, Monashka Bay, Bells Flats and C-fri- -iak. Ari nbN h1F1e5"4 3. One member from the area within the following precincts, which generally include the remaining portions of the borough: Page One, Ordinance No. 75 -16 -0 (a) Akhiok, No. 4 (b) Larsen Bay, No. 6 (c) Old Harbor, No. 8 (d) Port Lyons, No. 10 (e) Uganik, No. 11 (f) Ouzinkie, No. .9 (g) Karluk, No. 5 1 B. One of the four assembly seats within the boundari of the City of Kodiak shall be designated as a dual seat and the member elected to that position shall simultaneously run for and be elected to a seat on the council of the City of Kodiak. *SECTION 2. Section 2.16.020 is amended to read: 2.16.020 Term. The term of an assemblyman is three years or until a successor is selected and qualified. The term of a dual seat member elected to both the assembly and the city council shall terminate before the expiration of three years if and when that assembly member ceases for any reason to hold the seat on the city council. *SECTION 3. At the election to be held on October 7, 1975, the voters within the City of Kodiak shall elect two assemblymen for terms of three years, one of which shall be a dual posi- tion and two assemblymen shall be elected for a two year term. The voters from the Precinct No. 7 shall elect one assemblyman for a term of three years; the voters from precincts shall elect one assemblyman for a term of two years and the 1 borough outside the city shall elect one assemblyman for a one year term. The seats vacated by the expiration of a term in each succeeding year shall be filled for a three year term from the appropriate area. *SECTION 4.
