EMERGENCY ORDINANCE NUMBER 75 -8 -EO
AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND WAIVING CERTAIN BID REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has assumed the
Health Powers, and through this power built a hospital,
WHEREAS, during a recent Fire Inspection there were
several requirements that have not been met, and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that the doors within
the Hospital will have to be changed in order to meet the State
Fire Code, and proposals were sought from at least two contractors',
WHEREAS, delay in the ordering of the doors would result
in additional costs,
BE IT ORDAINED that an emergency does exist and that
in order to have this project completed within the time frame
established by the State Fire Marshal, it is necessary to seek
bids and have this work done as soon as possible, the Borough
Assembly does hereby waive the publication of bid requirements.
This waiver does not mean that competitive bids will not be
sought, only the requirement for advertising for such bids.
