ORDINANCE NUMBER 74 -25 -0
AN ORDINANCE TO EXEMPT PROPERTY OF THE KODIAK
JAYCEES FROM TAXES AND TO WAIVE COLLECTION OF TAXES
LEVIED FOR 1973.
WHEREAS, the Borough,is authorized by AS 29. 53.025
(b) (2) (8) to exempt from taxations property of an organization
not organized for business or profit making purposes and used
exclusively for community purpose, provided that income derived
from rental of such property does not exceed the actual cost to the
owner of the use by the renter; and,
WHEREAS, the Borough Assembly has determined that the
Kodiak Jaycees Inc., is a non - profit entity and that the land,
improvements and personal property known as the Kodiak Jaycee
Rodeo and State Fairgrounds at Bell's Flats is used for purposes and
produces rentals that satisfy the statutory standards.
NOW, THEREFORE , the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
Ordains:

Section I. The interest of Kodiak Jaycees, Inc. in the
land, improvements, and personal property known as
the Kodiak Jaycee Rodeo and State Fairgrounds located
in Bell's Flats near Kodiak, Alaska is exempt from all real
and personal property taxes that would otherwise
be levied by the Kodiak Island Borough.
Section 2. Real and Personal Property taxes levied against
the property described in Section I of this ordinance for the
year of 1973 in the amount of $217.64 are hereby forgiven
and the Kodiak Island Borough waives any right that might
otherwise exist to collect those taxes.
