ISAND AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOROUGH ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK
C OFBORDINANCESNANDGRESOLUTIONS PROVIDING7FOR QUALIFICCATION
OF VOTERS
WHEREAS, Chapter 4, Section 17 of the Kodiak Island
Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutions provides for
qualifications of voters, and
WHEREAS, the qualifications of voters have been
changed by Constitutional Amendment and statutorily by the
Alaska State Legislature, and the Borough Code should be amended
to reflect these changes.
BE IT ORDAINED by the the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly that Section 17 of Chapter 4 of the Kodiak Island
Borough Code of Ordinances and Resolutions be and the same is
repealed and re- enacted to read as follows:
i "Section 17. Qualifications of Voters: Any person
may vote who (1) is a citizen of the United States; (2) has
,passed his or her eighteenth birthday; (3) has been a resident
Hof the State of Alaska for at least seventy -five (75) days just
(before the election; (4) has registered before the election as
required under Section 15.07.010 of the Alaska Stattutes."
