AN ORDINANCE OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
:STABLISHING A SERVICE AREA TO BE KNOWN AS THE LARSEN BAY RURAL
'IRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
BE IT ORDAINED by the Borough Assembly of the Kodiak
sland Borough as follows:
Section 1. The Larsen Bay Rural Fire Protection District
is hereby created as a service area to provide fire protection,
suant to Section 07.15.050 of the Alaska Statutes.
Section 2. The area encompassed in the Larsen Bay Rura
re Protection District is as follows:
"Beginning at a point at 57 031130" N Latitude, and
154 002' W Longitude as shown on C &GS Chart No. 8541;
being the Southwest corner of Section 36 Township 30
South Range 29 West Seward Meridian; thence North
along the Westerly boundary of Section 36 to the
Northwest corner thereof; thence continuing North
along the Westerly boundary of Section 25 to the
Northwest corner thereof; thence East along the
Northerly boundary of said Section to the Northeast
corner thereof; thence continuing East along the
Northerly boundary of Section 30 to the Northeast
corner thereof; thence North along the Westerly
boundary of Section 20 to the Northwest corner of
the South half thereof; thence East along the
Northerly boundary of the South half of Section 20
to a point on the shore of Uyak Bay; thence South
along the Easterly boundary of the Southwest quarter
of Section 20 and continuing South along the Easterly
boundary of the West half of Section 29, to a point
on the shoreline of Uyak Bay to the left of the
entrance to Larsen Bay; thence meandering the
shoreline in an Easterly direction to its point of
intersection with the Easterly boudnary of Section 32;
thence South along the Easterly boundary of Section
32 to the Southeast corner thereof; thence West along
the South line of Sections 32, 31 and 36 to the point
of beginning. The area above.described encompassing
Sections 25, 30, 36, 31 and 32 and portions of
Sections 20 and 29 of Township 30 South Range 29
West Seward Meridian to be known as the Larsen Bay
Rural Fire Protection District."
Section 3. The Assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough
hall act as the Supervisory Board of the Larsen Bay Rural Fire
District until such time as an election is held in

the above-described service area, and the voters voting on the
the power to an appointed or
question approve delegation of
elected board; however, the Borough Assembly may appoint an
advisory board in the service area composed of not less than
three (3) individuals to serve in an advisory capacity to them
until such election is held..
Sect_ io The Borough Chairman will prepare a
budget for the service area and make application for any shared
revenues to which the service district or service area may be
entitled under the provisions of Alaska Statutes.
