10/10/2002 SMA regular meeting of the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly was held October 10, 2002 in the Kodiak Island Borough Conference Room at 710 Mill Bay Road. The meeting was called to order at 8:44 p.m. There were present: ROLL CALL Mayor: Gabrielle LeDoux Assemblymembers: Tuck Bonney Pat Branson Greg Razo Absent: Tom Abell Robin Heinrichs comprising a quorum of the Assembly; and TURNER, seconded by BRANSON Pat Carlson, Manager Judi Nielsen, Borough Clerk Laura Casey, Assistant Clerk VOTE ON MOTION TO APPROVE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH Special Assembly Meeting October 10, 2002 Wayne Stevens Darlene Turner moved to excuse Assemblymembers Abell and Heinrichs. MOTION CARRIED Unanimous voice vote CONSIDERATION OF MATTER FOR THE SPECIAL MEETING NEW BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS A. RESOLUTIONS RESOLUTIONS 1. Resolution No. 2002 -28 Requesting Support of Resolution Proposition C - GO Bonds. No. 2002 -28 BRANSON, moved to adopt seconded by RAZO Resolution No. 2002 -28 Manager Carlson said the General Obligation Bonds would allow for improvements at a local level. Assemblymember Razo supported the resolution and Special Assembly Meeting October 10, 2002 REGULAR MEETING Volume XXVII Page 261 encouraged the voters of Kodiak to pass the proposition. In response to Assemblymember Stevens, Betty Walters, Superintendent, said they would be promoting the information with ads in the newspaper and she had extra copies of the proposition in her office. Assemblymember Branson received information in the mail explaining the bond issues very well. Assemblymember Stevens would like to make sure the information gets to every voter.
