Special Assembly Meeting
April 13, 2000
A special meeting of the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly was held April 13, 2000 in the conference
room of the Kodiak Island Borough Building,
710 Mill Bay Road. The meeting was called to order
at 9:02 p.m.
There were present:

Tuck Bonney
Absent:
Robin Heinrichs
Pat Branson
Greg Spalinger
Darlene Turner
comprising a quorum of the Assembly; and
Dave Jensen, Manager
Judi Nielsen, Borough Clerk
Patti Kirkpatrick, Deputy Clerk
Cathy Fagan, Assistant Clerk
Assemblymember Heinrichs was out and asked to be
excused.
BRANSON, moved to excuse
seconded by TURNER Assemblymember

exceed $15,003.03.
Manager Jensen stressed the confidentiality of the
case that, when the incident occurred, involved a
minor. He said the legal services were rendered and
the bill should be paid.
Mayor Stevens noted that the confidential information
was available to the Assembly in the Manager's
office.
At the request of the Assembly, Manager Jensen said
he would work to obtain a contract with the law firm.

payment of the special
assessment to the City
of Kodiak for property
located at the corner
of Woody Way Loop and
Rezanof Drive in an
amount not to exceed
$38,991.97.
Manager Jensen wanted to pay the assessment in full
as the interest charge was approximately $2,000 per
year.
Assemblymember Arndt was concerned that funds were
not set aside and a budget adjustment was needed.

the June 1, 2000
regular meeting.
There was general discussion that the bill should be
paid and to review a budget adjustment in the future.
Assemblymember Branson felt it was timely to start
reviewing the budget.
