Special Assembly Meeting
November 9, 1995
A special meeting of the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly was held November 9, 1995 in the Conference
Room of the Kodiak Island Borough Building, 710 Mill
Bay Road. The meeting was called to order at 7:00
p.m.
There were present: ROLL CALL
Mike Milligan, Presiding
John Burt Suzanne Hancock
Robin Heinrichs Bob Johnson
Jack McFarland Gary Stevens
Comprising a quorum of the Assembly; and
Jerome Selby, Mayor
Donna Smith, CMC, Clerk
Judi Nielsen, Deputy Clerk
REORGANIZATION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY. REORGANIZATION
The special meeting was called for the election of
the presiding officer and deputy presiding officer of
the assembly.
Nominations for presiding officer were opened. ELECTION OF
PRESIDING
HEINRICHS, nominated OFFICER
Assemblymember Stevens
as presiding officer of
the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly.
HANCOCK, nominated
Assemblymember Milligan
as presiding officer of
the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly.
There being no further nominations, nominations for
presiding officer were closed.
After calculation of secret ballots, Clerk Smith
announced that Assemblymember Stevens was elected to
presiding officer.

Nominations for deputy presiding officer were opened. ELECTION OF
DEPUTY PRE: 4G
JOHNSON, nominated OFFICER
Assemblymember Milligan
as deputy presiding
officer of the Kodiak
Island Borough
Assembly.
Assemblymember Milligan declined.
MILLIGAN, nominated
Assemblymember
Heinrichs as deputy
presiding officer of
the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly.
There being no additional nominations for deputy
presiding officer, nominations were closed.
Assemblymember Heinrichs was elected to deputy
presiding officer by unanimous consent.
There being no further business to come before the
Assembly, newly - elected Presiding Officer Stevens
adjourned the meeting at 7:06 p.m.
