A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY ACCEPTING A GRANT
FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF ENERGY IN THE AMOUNT OF $80,054 FOR ENERGY CONSERVATION
IN THE JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has been offered funds by the
Department of Energy as authorized under the institutional conservation
program (Public Law 95 -619), and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is willing to undertake the
,renovation of the Junior High School in order to reduce the consumption of
,fossil fuel energy, and
WHEREAS, the grant offer requires a non - federal share match in the
amount of $92,085, and
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska has agreed to reimburse the Borough
$62,442 resulting in a cost to the Borough of $29,643, and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough, as a condition of grant approval,
agrees to accept the terms and limitations contained in the grant offer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE Kodiak Island Borough is
hereby authorized to receive and expend funds under the Department of Energy
Institutional Conservation Program grant award in the amount of $80,054 as
authorized by Public Law 95 -619 for energy conservation measures in the Junior
High School and such matching funds in the amount of $92,085 to be paid by the
State of Alaska in the amount of $62,442 (36.3 percent) and by the Kodiak
Island Borough the amount of $29,643 (17.2 percent) from the budgeted funds
for the Junior High School Renovation project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that
the Borough Manager is hereby authorized to prepare and execute appropriate
agreements for this project.
