A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
AUTHORIZING A FIVE -YEAR LOCAL SERVICE ROADS AND TRAILS PROGRAM FORS
THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH, 1984 -1988.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough wishes to continue
to participate in the Local Service Roads and Trails Program as
established by the State Legislature; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska requires that the Kodiak
Island Borough submit a five -year construction program prior to
any State participation; and,
WHEREAS, the funds appropriated by Chapter 94, SLA 1983
and apportioned under the Local Service Roads and Trails Program
are insufficient to accomplish the needs of the Kodiak Island
Borough without accumulating funds for several years.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly that the Kodiak Island Borough's 1983-1988
Improvements Program for Borough Roads be adopted as the
"Local Service Roads and Trails Construction Program 1983 - 1988 ",
as the Borough's official road construction program, and that the
projects will be accomplished as sufficient Local Service Roads
and Trails funds are accumulated or combined with other funds
which become available; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Borough Manager, Philip
C. Shealy, be authorized to sign project agreements with the State
of Alaska for the accomplishment of these projects on behalf of
the citizens of the Kodiak Island Borough.
