1968-35 Vacating A Portion Of Block 18 Kodiak Townsite And Replatting The Same As Lots 7 Through 22, Block Three Of The New Kodiak Subdivision.KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NUMBER 68 -35 -R A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH VACATING A PORTION OF BLOCK EIGHTEEN (18) KODIAK TOWNSITE AND REPLATTING THE SAME AS LOTS SEVEN (7) THROUGH TWENTY - TWO (22) BLOCK THREE (3) OF THE NEW KODIAK SUBDIVISION WHEREAS, EDWIN B. CRITTENDEN, Executive Director of Alaska State Housing Authority has petitioned the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission and Kodiak Island Borough Assembly for the vacation of a Portion of Block Eighteen (18) Kodiak Townsite and the replatting of the same as Lots Seven (7) through Twenty -two (22) Block Three (3) of the New Kodiak Subdivi- sion, the portion of said Block Eighteen (18) Kodiak Townsite U.S. Survey which Petitioner has asked to be vacated being des- cribed as: Beginning at a point from which meander corner 4 of USS 1837, as shown on the plat of the Kodiak Townsite, bears South 61° 53' 05" West, a distance of 281.70 feet; thence North 21 ° 15' 00" West, a distance of 183.89 feet to go through the Southeast corner, along the northeast line and through the northeast corner of Lot Nineteen (19), Block Eighteen (18), Kodiak Townsite, U.S. S. 2537 B; and across Old Shelikof Street to intersect the northwest right -of -way line of Old Shelikof Street and a point on the southeast lot line of Lot 36, Block 19, Kodiak Townsite USS 2537 B; thence following the following distances and bearings along the common line between the northwest right -of -way line of Old Shelikof Street and the southeast boundary of Block 19, Kodiak Townsite, USS 2537B; thence North 72° 04' 00" East, a distance of 0.45 feet; thence North 66° 37' 00" East, a distance of 33.35 feet; thence South 23 23' 00" East, a distance of 15.00 feet; thence North 66 37' 00" East, a distance of 40.00 feet; thence North 23° 23' 00" West , a distance of 15.00 feet; thence North 66° 36' 08" East, a distance of 403.97 feet; thence South 34° 20' 00" East, a distance of 5.09 feet;.thence North 66° 36' 10" East, a distance of 326.50 feet; thence South 22 44' 00" East, a distance of 248.10 feet; thence South 67° 16' 00" West, a distance of 811.55 feet; thence North 21° 15' 00" West, a distance of 60.00 feet r„ the .. nt of beginning, Page One, RESOLUTION NO. 68 -35 -R thereby containing 198,582 square feet, more or less, which also encompasses a portion of a street shown and described as Shelikof Street, now known as South Benson Avenue, and a portion of a street shown as Brooklyn Avenue, now known as 8helikof Street, all as shown on a plat entitled "Vacation of a Portion of Block 18, Kodiak Townsite" prepared by James R. Barr, Consulting Engineer, Drawing No. AHA680723B0, and replatting the same as Lots 7 through 22 of Block 3, of the New Kodiak Subdivision, as shown and described in a replat prepared by James R. Barr, known and described as New Kodiak Subdivision, Block 3, Lots 7 through 22, Drawing No. AHA67082SB1. WHEREAS, the basis for said Petition is that said proper within the Downtown Urban Renewal Area of the City of Kodiak and that said replat is necessary to conform to the Urban Renewal Plan accepted by the City, and WHEREAS, all persons interested were notified that a public hearing would be held on said Petition on Wednesday, the 9th day of October, 1968, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. in the District Courtroom of the State Office Building before the Kodiak Island Borough Planning and Zoning Commission which public hearing was duly noticed and held, a copy cf the Affidavit of Publication havin been filed herein and at which hearing the Planning and Zoning Commission recommended that the above- described portion of the Plat of the Kodiak Townsite U.S. Survey No. 2537 B, be vacated and replatted, and the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly being fully advised in the premises: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that that portion of Blcc:4 Eighteen (18) Kodiak Townsite, U.S. Survey No. 2537 B above describe_ be and the same is hereby vacated and replatted in accordance with Sections 40.15.140 through 40.15.180 Alaska Statutes and that the Kodiak Island Borough accept all streets, alleys; easements and other open spaces dedicated to public purposes as set forth in said replat.
