A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH CONCERNING THE
PROPOSED SALE OF ALEUTIAN HOMES BY HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT
TO ALASKA STATE HOUSING AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, The Housing and Urban Development is the owner
of a housing project located in the City of Kodiak, State of
Alaska known as Aleutian Homes and
WHEREAS, HUD proposes to sell said housing project to
the Alaska State Housing Authority and has requested that the
Kodiak Island Borough make known its views concerning such a sale
and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is aware that at
present the Aleutian Homes housing project is not up to minimum
FHA standards and that the streets in the project are not paved,
the yards are not graded, there is improper drainage and that the
buildings should be structurally upgraded.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly go on record as favoring the sale of the Aleutian
Homes housing project to Alaska State Housing Authority by Housing
and Urban Development provided that HUD first brings the housing
project up to standards so that the same meets the minimum FHA
requirements and further that adequate provision be made for prope
drainage of the project, paving of the streets located therein and
grading of the yards and that the buildings be structurally upgraded.
Provided further that in the event that such sale take place befor
such improvements are made that one of the covenants of the sale
be that the Alaska State Housing Authority be required to bring
the premises up to minimum FHA standards after such acquisition

individuals.
