KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
RESOLUTION NUMBER 66- / — F
A RESOLUTION ratifying the results of the Special
Borough Election held May 24, 1966;
WHEREAS, by resolution no. 66 -15 -R, passed and adopted .
the 21st day of April, 1966, the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
called and provided that at a Special Election to be held in the
KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH on Tuesday, the 24th day of May, 1966, the
following propositions would be submitted to the qualified electors
of the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH:
Proposition No. One:
"Shall an additional area -wide power be
granted to the Kodiak Island Borough,
authorizing the Borough to construct, maintain
and operate a hospital and enter into the health
and sanitation fields."
Proposition No. Two:
"If the majority of votes cast on Proposition No. One
are for addition of the power, shall the
Kodiak Island Borough, State of Alaska, incur
indebtedness in a sum not exceeding $300,000.00
for the purpose of constructing a 22 -bed
hospital, together with appurtenances and
auxiliary space and site developement necessary
for said hospital, and pledge the fullfaith
and credit of the Kodiak Island Borough to the
payment of any indebtedness so incurred and
issue general obligation bonds with interest
at a rate not to exceed six percent (6 %) per
annum, payable semi - annually over a period of
twenty (20) years, all as authorized by the
statutes of the State of Alaska."
The KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY finds and hereby
ratifies and declares that the results of the Special Election
held on May 24, 1966, were as follows:
That on Proposition No. One:
"Shall an additional area -wide power be
granted to the Kodiak Island Borou¢ authorizing

. There were 410 votes cast "For" the proposition, and
49. va. 4 ast "Against" the proposition, and the KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUO# declares and certifies to the Local Affairs Agency
that the measure was approved by the electorate and the additional '
power accepted.
That on Proptition No. Two:
"If the majority of votes cast on Proposition
No. One are for addition of the power, shall the
Kodiak Island Borough, State of Alaska, incur
indebtedness in a sum not exceeding $300,000.00
for the purpose of constructing a 22 -bed hospital
together with appurtenances and auxiliary space
and site development necessary for said hospital
and pledge the full faith and credit of the
Kodiak Island Borough to the payment of any .
indebtedness so incurred and issue general
obligation bonds with interest at a rate not to
exceed six percent (6 %) per annum, payable semi-
annually over a period of twenty (20) years,
all as authorized by the statutes of the State
of Alaska."
There were 236 votes cast "For" the measure and 39
votes cast "Against" the measure, the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY,
declares and certifies that said measure was approved by the
electorate.
That the total number of ballots cast at the election
on both propositions One and Two was 73

and all duties in connection herewith as required by law.
