RESOLUTION NO. 66 -16 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH ASSEMBLY, KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH,
ALASKA, MAKING APPLICATION TO THE ALASKA STATE HOUSING
AUTHORITY FOR URBAN PLANNING ASSISTANCE.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly desires to provide for a
planning study contributing to an over -all program for future community develop-
ment, the preservation of community values, the prevention of conditions tending
to cause urban blight, and the promotion of the general health, safety and
welfare of its citizens, and
WHEREAS, the Alaska State Housing Authority, under authority of Alaska
Statutes 18.55.970 et. seq., may provide planning assistance for such a program
and receive financial assistance from the Urban Renewal Administration, as
authorized by Section 701 of the Housing Act of 1954 (Public Laws) 83rd Congress,
as amended;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska,
Borough Assembly hereby requests the Alaska State Housing Authority to provide
planning assistance under the above authority.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:
1. That the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly, subject to approval by the
State and Federal authorities, hereby authorizes payment to the
Alaska State Housing Authority of a sum of $5,000 in cash, and
$10,000 in services, the total estimated cost of the project as
planned being $60,000, with $15,000 being the Borough's share and
$45,000 being the non - Borough share;
2. That the Chairman and the Presiding Officer of the Kodiak Island
Borough be, and they are hereby authorized and empowered to execute
in the name of the Kodiak Island Borough all necessary contracts
and agreements to implement and carry out the purposes specified
in this Resolution.
Passed and approved by the Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska, Borough Assembly
this 5th.day of May, 1966.
