A RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
WHEREAS, Kodiak Island has much undeveloped land which
ould be suitable for parks and camp and recreation sites and,
WHEREAS, it is considered that the development of such sites
in the KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH would not only promote tourist;ihteres.t
in the Kodiak area but would be of great value to the local residents
as well, and would be in accordance with good planning,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Alaska Division
of Lands be urged to carry forth as expeditiously as possible the
development of the Fort Abercrombie site on Miller Point as a state
park and camp and recreation area.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Alaska Division of Lands
be urged to give serious consideration to the devebpment of other
camp and recreation area and state parks, and historical
sites, such as the Old Russian Mill Site, the Narrow Cape- Pasagshakl
( primitive Area Park, Anton Larsen Bay Recreational Park, and other
§ uitable sites.
