10/14/197119 l 1 1 g 5 l 7 KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY SPECIAL MEETING OCTOBER 14, 1971 I CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order at 2:35 P.M. by the Presiding Officer in the Borough Office, Donnelley Building, Kodiak, Alaska. II ROLL CALL IV AAIOURNYENT Present Absent Wilton T. White, Borough Chairman Norm Sutliff, Presiding Officer Dick Sims Fred Brechan T T Jackson Don Arndt Also present: Russell M. Walker, Clerk; Jerry Byler, Marilyn Pederson from the School Administration; Jo Hajdu and Beveraly Horn from the School Board and Mr. Harry Clowse. III PURPOSE OF SPECIAL MEETING A. 1st Reading of Ordinance No. 71 -15 -0 read by title only in the first reading. Mr. Sims moved for approval of Ordinance No. 71 -15-0 in the first reading seconded by Mr. Jackson. Under discussion the Borough Chairman note that it was the feelings of the assembly that consideration should be given to any future transactions of this sort being entered into by the Assembly rather than the School Administration and School Board. It was further pointed out that there should be a policy arrived at relative to the future use or continued use of the K. C. Building prior to the second reading of the Ordinance. This lease falls under capital projects and guidelines have been established that the Assembly of the Borough is the body that enters into agreements concerning such projects. It was noted that Mr. Greene would have the recommended budget changes to present to the next regular School Board meeting and then would be forwarded to the Borough Assembly for their next regular meeting.
