the work to be included in the change orders, so that more school time will not be
lost. The architect will have to review and prepare the change orders, and this

required will be a two -hour firewall. This is needed not only for the protection
of the inhabitants, but for the protection of the building itself. After furt'er

The ar&Itect will be coming to Kodiak and it was felt that he and the Borough
Engineer, acting in the place of the Building Inspector who will not be available,
should inspect the school together. Mr. Stansbury did not feel that it would be
necessary to go to Akhiok to determine the cost of the fire wall. Mr. Norton
stated that work on the fire wall would proceed after the situation had been
reviewed by the architect and engineer and cost estimates had been submitted.

It was pointed out that Northland Camps had refused to provide plans for the
school because they do not wish to have their unique construction methods copied
by another oorrpany. iirs. Hajdu felt that all payments should be withheld until
plans are provided. Mrs. Springhill stated that Mr. IsAac of the State Department
of Education had told her that the Northland Camps units were acceptable to the
State and were, in feet, the best available. She questioned how the State could
use these buildings without plans being provided for them, and without their
meeting the Uniform Building Code. Mr. Schott stated that he had written to North-
land land Ca'mps and advised them that plans must be provided before their bill would be
paid.
After further discussion, Mr. Barr moved, seconded by Mrs. Hajdu, that the architect
be requested to have a report and recommendations available before the next
Assembly meeting and that in the meantime everything possible be done to protect
the children within the building, inc1u ing advising the teachers to vacate the
building in case of winds over 60 knots. IJotion carried by unanimous voice vote.
