The meeting was called to order at 1210 p.m. by Borough Chairman Sam Best in the
Borough Offices, Donnelley Building, Kodiak, Alaska, for the purpose of taking
action on Resolution No b8-20-R approving the entry into contractual status of
Borough associated surveyors and engineers for survey work on Borough lands.

A. Resolution Tao. 63• •20 R.Approving the Entry into Contractual Status of
Borough Associated Surveyors and Engineers for Survey Uaork on Borough Lands.
The resolution was read. Mr. Best stated that it was desirable both on the
part of the Borough and the State Division of Lands. i4on- passage of the
resolution, which was requested by the State, would result in both ? Best and
Er. Barr being penalized for being residents here and working for the Borough.
Also, it is more economical to the Borough for survey work to be done by local
i:ersonnel , if possible. rats. Springhill moved for the adoption of the resolution
seconded by i•r. Bullock. It was explained that a special meeting was necessary
since Ur. Hoffman will be arriving in Kodiak at the end of the week to negotiate
the contracts. ii lotion carried by unanimous roll call vote.
A. 1968 -69 School Budget. Mrs. Springhill stated that it is anticipated that the
874 funds will receive almost full restoral, although it is not vet final.
There will be an increase in foundation funds of $30 to $32 per child. The '
budget was discussed briefly. Increases in salaries, in the number of teachers,
in the number of boarding students, and in maintenance costs were pointed out
The budget will be formally presented by the School Loard at the flay 2 Assembly
meting. It was suggested that at that time a work session on the budget be
scheduled with the School Board.
