KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
SPECIAL FETING - :.00TOBER 11, 1965
The meeting was called to order by Presiding Officer Russell Wright at 8:20 p.m.
in the Courtroom.

Also present: Chairman Powell, Clerk Sleness, Attorney Madsen, Jo Hajdu,
Mathey Fitzgerald, Roy Madsen, Pat Cannon, Beverly Horn, Carl
Rodli, and members of the audience.
III Canvassing of the votes and certification of election by Borough Assembly.
Clerk Sleness read a memorandum addressed to Chairman, Kodiak Island Borough,
stating number of votes cast, total number ofvotes cast for each candidate, total
number of votes cast for and against on the school bond issue, and total of votes
cast by precinct was read. Assemblyman Perez made a motion that the election results
be accepted as read by the Borough Clerk. Seconded by Assemblyman White. Passed
unanimously on roll call vote.
Clerk Sleness explained the procedures of the election and swearing in procedures.
Certification is to be presented to the Assembly at the next meeting.
Clerk Sleness swore in Mr. Wilton White as Borough Chairman. Chairman White thanked
the retiring Chairman Powell for his contribution to the Borough particularly
during the time of the disaster.
Clerk Sleness swore in Mrs. Jo Hajdu and Mr. Mathey Fitzgerald as the new Assembly
members.
Clerk Sleness sowre in Mrs. Patricia Cannon, Mr. Roy Madsen, Mrs. Beverly Horn,
and Mr. Carl Rodli as the new school board members.
Presiding Officer Russell Wright asked if there was any other business to discuss
before the Assembly.
Chairman White welcomed the new elected officials.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m.
