SPECIAL METING - June 30, 1965
PUBLIC HEARING ON BUDGET
I Call to Order
The meeting was called to order at 7:59 p.m. in the Courtroom by Presiding
Officer Russell Wright.

Also present: Chairman Powell, Ron Cease, Director, LAA, Bob Hall, Pres. KIBSB,
and members of the audience.
III Public Hearings
The Presiding Officer stated that the Assembly would just review the budgets
, tonight and probably approve them tomorrow night.
A. School Budget. It was explained to the assembly by Chairman Powell that they
could not line item cut the School budget. They could only cut a percentage
or a.. amount from the budget. Mr. Hall was asked to sit with the
Assembly while the budget was discussed. The expenditure of a bookkeeping
machine was questioned now that the Borough has taken over the School system
and taxing. A lengthy discussion was held. No formal action was taken.
1. People to be Heard. The presiding officer asked if there were any
questions on the school budget. There were no questions from the audiende.
B. Borough Budget. It was stated that there were only a few changes in the
budget since the Assembly saw it at their last meeting. An item by item
discussion was held.
1. People to be Heard. The Presiding Officer called for comments from
the audience. Nr. T.T. Jackson and Nr. Sam Best made comments.
A further discission by the Assembly was held on the hiring of a P fi Z
Officer.
It was stated the Assembly would meet. tomorrow night at their regular
meeting and pass on both the Borough and School budgets.
The meeting was adjourned at 10 p.m.
