RESOLUTION NO. 77 -65 -R
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PARTICIPATION OF THE KODIAK
ISLAND BOROUGH AND ITS EMPLOYEES AND OFFICIALS IN THE PUBLIC
EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM OF ALASKA AND THE PAYMENT OF THE
REQUIRED PREMIUMS, PURSUANT TO A.S. 39.35 E.T. SEQ.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly in accordance
with Section 417 of Ordinance 77 -31 -0 wishes to implement a
retirement system for its employees; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly has determined
that the Alaska Public Employees' Retirement System is admissable
as set forth in Ordinance 77 -31 -0.
NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly, Kodiak, Alaska, that:
1. Pursuant to Alaska Statutes and Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly Ordinance 77 -31 -0, the Assembly hereby requests per-
mission to become a participating employer of the Public Employees'
Retirement System of Alaska.
2. The employees of the Kodiak Island Borough are provided
coverage under Title II of the Federal Social Security Act.
3. All regular fulltime employees of the Kodiak Island
Borough shall be participating members of the Public Employees'
Retirement System of Alaska, with accrued benefits retroactively
to date of employment.
4. The Kodiak Island Borough further requests that partici-
pation in the Public Employees' Retirement System of Alaska be
made effective November 8th, 1977.
5. The Manager of the Kodiak Island Borough is authorized
and directed to take any and all steps necessary to enroll the
Kodiak Island Borough and its employees and officers in the Public
Employees' Retirement System Participation Agreement.
