1977-54 Ratifying And Confirming The Results Of The October 4, 1977 General Election.A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY RATIFYING AND
CONFIRMING THE RESULTS OF THE OCTOBER 4, 1977 GENERAL ELECTION.
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Law, the Kodiak Island Borough held a General
Municipal Election in the Borough on Tuesday, the 4th day of October, 1977,
at which time candidates for the following offices to be filled were voted
on:
KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH
RESOLUTION NUMBER 77 -54 -R
One (1) Borough Mayor for a two -year term; Two (2) Borough Assemb y-
men for a three -year term; Two (2) Borough Assemblymen for unexpired terms
of One (1) year; and One (1) School Board Member for a three -year term, and.
WHEREAS, the returns of said election have been delivered to and
canvassed by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembl
Section 1: That the Assembly finds and hereby ratifies and declar:s
the results of the General Municipal Election held within the Kodiak Island
Borough on Tuesday, October 4, 1977 to be as follows:
THAT for the position of Borough Mayor for a two -year term the
following votes were cast:
THAT BETTY J. WALLIN received 857 votes; Write -in votes were
received for Phillip Kennedy (1), Okey Chandler (16), Tom Frost (52), Bob
Craig (1), Wayne Kotula (11), Del Jackson (3), Jeff Collins (2), Dan Ogg (3
Jim Peotter (3), Ron Ball (2), Eva Holm (2), Cecil Ranney (6), John Eufemio
(2), Dorothy Paulson (1), Wilton White (5), Jack Fredrickson (1), Tom
Sweeney (1), Pogo (1), Jerry Byler (1), Jim Fisk (2), Carol Mayberry (1),
Gladys Berestoff (1), Sid Omlid (1), L. G. Schneider (1), Mickey Mouse (1),
Clint Sauer (1), Sharon Naughton (1), Mike Emmick (1), Susan Klemzak (1),
Ron Frost (1). Therefore, it is hereby declared that BETTY J. WALLIN has
been elected.
THAT for the positions of Assemblyman for three -year terms the
following votes were cast:
THAT JAMES E. PEOTTER received 651 votes; EDWARD B. JACK receive
679 votes; ROLLYN J. BALL received 561 votes; Write -in votes were re-
ceived for Charles Davidson (1), Cliff Davidson (1), Tom Frost (2), Alexis
Chichenoff (1), Okey Chandler (6), Charles Powell (1), Jane Petrich (1),
Peter Holm, Jr. (1), Ole Johnson (1), Donald Zimmerman (1), Frank Parker (1 ,
Bill Cordy (1), Frank Peterson (1), Pat Heitman (1), Pete Jackson (1), Von
Straub (1). Therefore it is hereby declared that JAMES E. PEOTTER and
EDWARD B. JACK have been elected.
THAT for the positions of Assemblyman for one -year unexpired terms
the following votes were cast:
THAT THOMAS E. LOGAN 551 votes; WILLIAM G. "BILL" WILLIAMS 620
votes; DAN OGG 536 votes; Write -in votes were received for Cliff
Davidson (1), Lita Ecklund (1), Okey Chandler (2), Wilda Gillis (1), Charle
Powell (1), Jack Fredrickson (1), Jim Duras (1), Emil Norton (1), Peter
Holm, Jr. (1), Donald Zimmerman (1), Jim Fisk (1), Dennis Murray (1). There
fore it is hereby declared that THOMAS E. LOGAN an WILLIAM G. "BILL" WILLIA S
have been elected.
THAT for a position of School Board Member for a three -year term
the following votes were cast:
THAT STANLEY A. BALTZO received 665 votes; JOHN RENFROE receive
262 votes; Write -in votes were received for Leonard P. Heitman (153),
Cliff Davidson (2), Alexis Chichenoff (1), Carol Lechner (1), Peter Holm,
(1), Gaynell Hather (1), Kitzel M. Baltzo (1). Therefore it is hereby de-
clared that STANLEY A. BALTZO has been elected.

11th day of October, 1977.
