A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
REQUESTING IMMEDIATE ACTION BY THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT F
PERFORMANCE OF A CADASTRAL SURVEY ON THE MONASHKA BAY SUBDIVIS
LAND
WHEREAS, the survey of the Monashka Bay Subdivision wa
performed by the Alaska Division of Lands as a basis of a pate t
to Kodiak Island Borough and the Borough in turn quitclaimed ins
interest in the land to the public, and
WHEREAS, the Monashka Bay Subdivision land was conveye
from the Federal Government to the State as tentatively approv
or TA'd land, and
WHEREAS, the Federal Government in the body of Bureau
Land Management does have the option of adopting the survey p
formed by the Alaska Division of Lands and thereafter issuing
patent based on the State survey as adopted by the Federal Gov -rn-
I ent.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island
orough Assembly does hereby request the appropriate State
Legislators and Congressmen representing the State of Alaska use
their offices to initiate the following:
a.) A cadastral survey of the Monashka Bay Subdivision
land as a basis of issuing a patent to the State so that the
people of Kodiak area will be able to receive title to patented
land within the Monashka Bay Subdivision, or
b.) That administrative action within the Bureau of and
Management be initiated accepting the survey performed on Monashka
Bay Subdivision by the Alaska Division of Lands and the same •e
adopted by the Bureau of Land Management in lieu of a cadastra1
survey, and
FURTHER, that the Borough Attorney be authorized to u.ilize
this resolution as a basis for legal and procedural pursuits eces-
sary to expedite the appropriate decisions for title clearanc= on
the Monashka Bay Subdivision land so that the people of Kodia area
ill be able to receive title to patented land that will in tu'n

enable them to utilize such land as collateral with the Veterar.
