A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE RESULTS OF THE JANUARY 18, 1977
SPECIAL ELECTION FOR BOROUGH MAYOR
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Law, the Kodiak Island Borough hel
a Special Municipal Election in the Borough on Tuesday, the 1 t
day of January, 1977 at which time candidates for the office •f
Borough Mayor to be filled were voted on, and
WHEREAS, the returns of said election have been deliver
to and canvassed by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly:
Section 1: That the Assembly finds and hereby ratifies
and declares the results of the Special Municipal Election held
within the Kodiak Island Borough on Tuesday, January 18, 1977
to be as follows: // o
That JAMES FISK received d7 votes for the unexpire
votes for that position; WAYNE KOTULA received
votes were received for William Fearn (1); Phillip Kennedy (1);
Ed Naughton (1); Betty Wallin (1); Harold Ward (1). and None of
the above (1). That no candidate received in excess of forty
percent (40%) of the votes cast for office of Borough Mayor as
required by Section 29.28.040 of the Alaska Statutes, Municipal
Code. Therefore, a run -off election shall be held within the
Kodiak Island Borough for the position of a ten -month unexpired
term for Borough Mayor on � teAescA,,,,i /j'; , and notice
of the run - off election shall be published at least five (5) days
before that date, and at the election the person receiving the
majority of the votes for that office shall be declared to be
elected.
