A RESOLUTION BY THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH PLANNING A D
ZONING COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF PORT LIONS INTERIM
UTILIZATION OF THE PORT LIONS ZONING PLAN.
WHEREAS, the City of Port Lions, Alaska has prepared a
Comprehensive Development Plan to guide the future developme t of
the community providing for public services and facilities in-
cluding the appropriate supportive ordinances, and,
WHEREAS, the Port Lions Comprehensive Development Plan
requires the appropriate zoning classification of lands withi
the City of Port Lions to promote the public health, safety a
general welfare and to insure that the utilization of lands,
quality of development, density, and environmental considerations
reflect the best interest of the community as set forth in th
plan, and,
WHEREAS, the City of Port Lions has expressed the des
to maintain a zoning plan, appropriate classifications, and map,
for consistency with the recommendations for development set
forth in the Port Lions Comprehensive Development Plan; and
correlative with definitions, classifications, and specifications
set forth in the Kodiak Island Borough zoning ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island
Borough Planning and Zoning Commission does hereby grant the City
of Port Lions Interim Utilization of the Port Lions Zoning Plan
as a guide to community development decision making until the
coordinated Regional Development Plan and supportive ordinances
for the island are complete.
