1975-41 Establishing A Tax Committee.7 KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NUMBER 75 -41 -R A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ESTABLISHING A TAX COMMITTEE. WHEREAS, a Committee to study the revenue needs and sources of the City of Kodiak and the Kodiak Island Borough and to study general areas of consolidation of services would be an asset to the Assembly, and WHEREAS, the committee would study and make recommendations to the City Council and the Kodiak Island Borough concerning the operational needs of the respective bodies and hold public hearings to receive information from the citizens of Kodiak, and WHEREAS, this Committee would be non - political in nature and would make recommendations to the City Council and the Kodiak Island Borough based solely on their economic impact to the community without regard to any political impact, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Borough Assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough, that a Tax Committee be established in the following manner: A. Advisors to this Committee shall be the City Manager, the Borough Mayor, and the Superintendent of Schools or their delegates; B. The Committee shall be composed of a representative of the following organizations: Retailers Association, League of Women Voters, Processors Association, Shrimp Trawlers Association, United Fishermen's Marketing Association, Chamber of Commerce, Senior Citizens, Koniag, Borough Assembly, City Council and School Board; and no more than three at large members; C. At the first meeting of the Committee operating rules and regulations shall be established; D. Vacancies occuring on the Committee shall be filled by the Committee; E. A Chairman shall be elected by the Committee; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Assembly of the Kodiak Island Borough that this Committee is formed for a period of six months commencing on the , ;/^, ', day of (CC.
