RESOLUTION NUMBER 75 -32 -R
A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE RESULTS OF THE SPECIAL ELECTION
OF AUGUST 5, 1975 /
WHEREAS, Pursuant to Law, the Kodiak Island Borough held
a Special Election in the Borough on Tuesday, August 5th, 1975,
at which time the following question was voted on:
"SHALL THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY BE REAPPORTIONED
IN THE FOLLOWING MANNER?
A seven member Assembly: Four members elected at large
from the First Class City of Kodiak, with one member
being elected to both assembly and the City Council,
one member at large from the area outside the City of
Kodiak, one member from the area of the road system on
Kodiak, including Spruce Cape, Island Lake, Monashka
Bay, Bells Flats, Chiniak and Anton Larsen Bay; and one
member from the remaining area of the Borough including
Akhiok, Karluk, Larsen Bay, Port Lions, Old Harbor,
Ouzinkie and Uganik"
Set forth in Ordinance No. 75 -16 -0
WHEREAS, the returns of said election have been delivered to
and canvassed by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly:
Section 1: That the Assembly finds and hereby ratifies
and declares the results of the Special Election held within
the Borough on Tuesday, August 5th, 1975 to be as follows:
That there were /'1 Li YES votes on the proposition
and there were t)(0 NO votes on the proposition. There-
fore it is declared that the proposition &A . e S within
the City of Kodiak.
Section 2: That there were /3 7 YES votes on the
proposition outside the First Class City and there were
NO votes. Therefore it is declared that the Proposition
/ 4 /LS in that area outside the First Class City of Kodiak.
Section 3. The Borough Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to perform any and all duties in connection with
the certification of these results.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly on the llth day of August, 1975.
