1974-56 Calling For The Establishment Of An Affirmative Action Program.A RESOLUTION OF THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH CALLING FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF AN AFFIRMATIVE
ACTION PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is committed to the
principle of equal employment opportunity and direct that all employment
practices and personnel procedures of the Borough shall be without regard
to race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that an analysis shall be
made and goals and timetables established and followed to correct any
deficiencies which are found to exist in the areas of recruitment, hiring,
promotion, transfers, layoff, recall, training, tuition, social, recreation,
compensation or employee benefit programs for minorities and females.
An Affirmative Action Program shall be adopted and implemented to bring
about equal employment opportunity.
At the direction of the Borough Mayor, the Borough Clerk shall be fully
responsible for implementation of the Affirmative Action Program, for
dissemination of information, for maintenance of adequate records, and
for periodic review and auditing of the progranh with an annual written report
to the Assembly on progress toward meeting stated goals of the program,
and recommendations for remedial action or changes to update the
Affirmative Action Program.
