A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY
RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING THE RESULTS Or THE OCTOBER 22nd
RUN -OFF ELECTION
WHEREAS, pursuant to law, the Kodiak Island Borough
held a General Municipal Election in the Borough on Tuesday,
October 1, 1974, at which time none of the candidates for the
position of Borough Assemblyman for a three -year term or for
the position of Borough School Board Member for a three -year
term received in excess of forty percent (40 %) of the votes
cast for those offices; therefore the Borough held a run -off
election for the Assembly position of three-years and the
School Board three -year position on Tuesday, October 22, 1974,
a Notice of the Run -Off Election being published at least five
days before that date, and
WHEREAS, the returns of said election have been delivered
to and canvassed by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly:
Section 1. The Assembly finds and hereby ratifies and
declares the results of the October 22nd, 1974, Run -Off Election
for the position of Borough Assemblyman for a three -year term
to be as follows:
That Nicholas Pestrikoff received 231 votes for the
position of Assemblyman and that Mark White received 172 votes
for that position. Therefore, it is hereby declared that
NICHOLAS PESTRIKOFF has been elected to the three -year term on
the Borough Assembly. Harold Sargent received one vote.
Section 2. The Assembly finds and hereby ratifies and
declares the results of the Run -Off Election for the School
Board position of three - years as follows:
That John J. Eufemio received 469 votes for the three-
year position, that Betty J. Wallin received 279 votes for
that position and that there was one (1) write -in vote each for
Wayne Kotula and Frances Rutledge. Therefore, it is hereby
declared that John J. Eufemio has been elected to the three -
year term on the Borough School Board.
Section 3. The Borough Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to perform any and all duties in connection with the
certification of these results and the swearing in of the
successful candidates for office.
PASSED AND APPROVED by the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly the 25th day of October, 1974.
