1974-1-R Providing For The Participation Of The Kodiak Island Borough In The Bicentennial Communities Program.A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE PARTICIPATION OF THE
KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH IN THE BICENTENNIAL COMMUNITIES PROGRAM.
ATTEST:
WHEREAS, the American Bicentennial Commission, as
authorized by the President of the United States, has announced
the Bicentennial Communities Program; and
WHEREAS, this program designates communities which are
willing to participate in the official nation -wide bicentennial
commemoration; and
WHEREAS, a bicentennial community can take advantage of
the opportunity of federal funds which become available for
participation in a local facility; and
WHEREAS, the bicentennial community activities can in-
spire citizen support and involvement; and
WHEREAS, the program necessitates widespread citizen
involvement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Assembly of the
Kodiak Island Borough that:
Appointment be made by the Borough Mayor for a committee
who may involve others as the committee finds it necessary to
provide full involvement of the community participation.
The Committee shall work to develop coordinated plans
and action programs for community participation in the bicentenn-
ial celebration.
