A RESOLUTION REQUESTING MUNICIPAL CAPITAL PROJECT MATCHING
GRANT FUNDS FROM THE STATE OF ALASKA FOR FISCAL YEAR 1996
WHEREAS, the State of Alaska, during the 1993 legislative session, established the
Municipal Capital Project Matching Grant Program under AS 37.06 which
provides for funds to be made available to the Kodiak Island Borough as
long as they are matched with Kodiak Island Borough funds; and
WHEREAS, a municipality is required under AS 37.06 to submit a prioritized list of
capital projects to the Office of the Governor, State of Alaska, if funding
for those projects is requested by the municipality under the Municipal
Project Matching Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, a municipality is required under AS 37.06 to provide a local matching
share for capital projects funded through the Municipal Capital Matching
Grant Program; and
WHEREAS, the highest priority project which is feasible with the amount of funds
that are available through the Municipal Capital Project Matching Grant
Program is the Final Closeout and Rehabilitation of Smokey's Landfill;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: By this resolution, the Kodiak Island Borough hereby endorses and
requests grant funding under AS 37.06 for the following capital project
as identified below with respect to its project name and the amount
