1994-19 Urging the Governor of the State of Alaska to Appoint a Kodiak Representative to the Advisory Board for the Oil Spill Recovery Institute (OSRI).Section 1: KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NO. 94 -19 Introduced by: Requested by: Drafted: Introduced: Adopted: A RESOLUTION URGING THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF ALASKA TO APPOINT A KODIAK REPRESENTATIVE TO THE ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE OIL SPILL RECOVERY INSTITUTE (OSRI) Mayor Selby Assembly Borough Clerk 07/07/94 07/07/94 WHEREAS, the governing body of the Kodiak Island Borough is invited to submit nominations of individuals from the community interested in serving a two -year term on the Advisory Board for the Oil Spill Recovery Institute (OSRI); and WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough was one of the communities in Alaska affected by the EXXON VALDEZ oil spill; and WHEREAS, a Kodiak representative is knowledgeable about fisheries, local industries, marine environment, wildlife, public health, safety, and education; and WHEREAS, one of the four individuals serving as community representatives on the OSRI Board is a Kodiak resident eligible for re- nomination; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH THAT: Governor Rickel is urged to re- nominate Suzanne Hancock to the Oil Spill Recovery Institute Advisory Board for a two -year term to assure quality input from an area in Alaska affected by an oil spill. Section 2: The Secretary of Commerce is urged to designate Suzanne Hancock as a final appointment of one of the four individuals from communities impacted by the spill.
