1992-27 Authorizing a Lease of the Chiniak Library Building to the Chiniak Public Library Association.WHEREAS, The Kodiak Island Borough is owner of the old Chiniak Library Building
located on Tract E, Chiniak Subdivision; and
WHEREAS, the Chiniak Public Library Association has leased the premises since
1984 for use as the Chiniak Community Library; and
WHEREAS, the present lease of the structure has expired; and
WHEREAS, the Chiniak Public Library Association has requested a new lease;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH:
Section 1: The Kodiak Island Borough Assembly approves the lease of the former
Chiniak School building to the Chiniak Public Library Association under
the same conditions as the previous lease.
Section 2: The term of the lease will be one (1) year at a time with five (5)
automatic one -year extensions that can be terminated by either party
giving proper notice.
