1992-20 Authorizing Leasing of the Office Space in the Kodiak Island Borough Building.KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NO. 92 -20 Introduced by: Requested by: Drafted by: Date: Adopted: A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING LEASING OF THE OFFICE SPACE IN THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH BUILDING Mayor Selby Finance Director Finance Director 06/04/92 06/04/92 WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough is the owner of Lots 5 and 7 of U.S. Survey 2538A and all improvements thereon; and WHEREAS, the main building, a former dormitory, has been converted to an office building of which approximately 77 percent is used for office space and the remaining space is common area; and WHEREAS, Kodiak Island Borough Assembly desires to manage the property as a self- sustaining enterprise and to meet this goal it is advantageous to provide full occupancy by renting the available space to qualified occupants, giving first priority to school and borough use; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH THAT: Section 1: The Borough Mayor is authorized to negotiate and enter into leases with the following governmental bodies and qualifying non - profit corporations for office space in the Borough Building at a rate of $1.00 per square foot per month: Kodiak Island Borough School District - 4,661 square feet Kodiak Island Borough - 9,794 square feet City of Kodiak - 3,895 square feet KMXT Radio Station - 1,430 square feet Kodiak Island Borough - 1,196 square feet State of Alaska C &RA - 236 square feet Kodiak Island Borough, Alaska Resolution No. 92 -20 Page 1 of 2 Section 2:An additional provision will be added to individual lease agreements for not more than five (5) automatic extensions or renewals providing there are no changes to the original individual lease agreements by either the lessor or lessee. Section 3: The terms and conditions of lease shall be those provided in the written document as prepared and entitled Lease Agreement. PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 4th DAY OF JUNE, 1992.
