A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FY 1993 SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET
AND DETERMINING THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FUNDS TO BE MADE
AVAILABLE FROM LOCAL SOURCES
WHEREAS, AS 14.14.060 specifies that the Borough School Board shall submit the
school budget for the following school year to the Borough Assembly by
April 1 for approval; and
WHEREAS, within thirty days after receipt of the budget, the Assembly shall
determine the amount of money to be made available from local sources
for school purposes and shall furnish the School Board with a statement
of the sum to be made available; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough School District did on March 30, 1992
approve the FY 1993 budget in the amount of $18,024,000 and
transmit this to the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly; and
WHEREAS, the apparent resolution of the Teacher Retirement System funding will
reduce the total budget to $17,724,000; and
WHEREAS, the budget requests that a total of $3,450,000 and additional in -kind
services be appropriated from local sources;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
Section 1: The Assembly accepts the FY 1993 Kodiak Island Borough School
District budget in the amount of $17,724,000 based on the projected FY
1993 funding by the State of Alaska, and hereby authorizes funds
appropriated in the Kodiak Island Borough FY 1993 budget for the FY
1993 School District budget as follows:
$3,200,000 New local appropriation
$3,200,000 Total Local Appropriation

Section 2: The Borough staff is hereby instructed to notify the School District of
this action and take all steps necessary to ensure that the local
appropriation is included in the FY 1993 Kodiak Island Borough budget.
