A RESOLUTION URGING THE KODIAK ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION BOARD
OF DIRECTORS TO CONSTRUCT AN ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION
LINE TO THE ANTON LARSEN BAY AREA
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Electric Association Board of Directors is considering the
construction of an electrical distribution line to the Anton Larsen Bay
area; and
WHEREAS, there are a number of year round residents already living in the Anton
Larsen Bay area; and
WHEREAS, the golf course and developing ski chalet provided by the United States
Coast Guard would be able to obtain power from this line; and
WHEREAS, there is privately held ground in the Anton Larsen Bay area which could
be subdivided and developed as part of Kodiak's economic base; and
WHEREAS, the economic development potential would be greatly enhanced in the
entire Anton Larsen Bay area by the construction of such a power line;
and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough has a goal of developing a more diversified
economy on Kodiak Island;
