A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING INCREASED FUNDING TO MEET THE NEEDS
OF THE VILLAGE PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICERS
WHEREAS, the Village Public Safety Officers are recognized as an important
component of public safety in rural Alaska; and
WHEREAS, the continued survival of the Village Public Safety Officers program is
needed; and
WHEREAS, increased funding is needed to meet the needs of the Village Public
Safety Officers program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK ISLAND
BOROUGH THAT:
the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly supports funding in the State of Alaska
supplemental appropriation bill for the Village Public Safety Officers program.
Notification of support shall be given by copy of this resolution to State of Alaska
Governor Walter J. Hickel, Senator Fred F. Zharoff, and Representative Cliff Davidson.
