RESOLUTION NO. 92-02
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION
TO THE NATIONAL HISTORICAL PUBLICATIONS AND RECORDS COMMISSION
WHEREAS, the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC)
has funds available to support local government archival programs; and
WHEREAS, Kodiak Island Borough (KIB) has developed a Records Retention Schedule
(Resolution No. 91-42) identifying those records of a permanent nature;
and
WHEREAS, KIB makes those records available to the public, except for those deemed
confidential by statute; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that certain conditions be met as part of the application
requirements; and
WHEREAS, permanent records dating from September 30, 1963, the incorporation
of Kodiak Island Borough, to the present should be preserved for
posterity; and
WHEREAS, microfilming is deemed to be the most cost effective method; and
WHEREAS, KIB will continue the microfilming project upon the expiration of the
NHPRC funds; and
WHEREAS, KIB shall agree to comply with all applicable federal and state regulations
in the event that this application is selected for funding.
