A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING STATE FUNDING OF SALMON MARKETING
WHEREAS, the Alaskan economy is dependant on the fishing industry for stable
economic development; and
WHEREAS, salmon is the primary source of income for that industry; and
WHEREAS, the Alaskan salmon is loosing its market share to other countries that
farm salmon; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to aggressively market Alaskan salmon;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK
ISLAND BOROUGH:
Supports increased state funding for salmon marketing.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 19th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1991.
