A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A STATE GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $9,300 FOR
LOCAL EMERGENCY PLANNING COMMITTEE DEVELOPMENT OF AN OIL AND
HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN
WHEREAS, State and federal law mandates that communities develop a plan for
responding to oil and hazardous substance releases; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough Mayor's Office submitted a grant application
requesting funding assistance for the development of a local oil and
hazardous substance emergency response plan; and
WHEREAS, the funding request has been approved by the Alaska Department of
Environmental Conservation in the amount of $9,300.00; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used for the completion of Phase II of the response
plan which includes: a hazards profile, identification of procedures for
implementing the response plan, and a description of facility resources;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY OF THE KODIAK
ISLAND BOROUGH:
Section 1. The Borough Mayor is hereby authorized to negotiate, execute, and
administer any and all documents and contracts required to obtain the
funds.
Section 2. The Mayor is further authorized to manage the funds on behalf of the
Borough,including the execution of any subsequent amendments to the
grant contract to allow for adjustments to the project within the scope of
services or tasks specified in the grant.
