RESOLUTION NO. 91-02
A RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE CONTRIBUTIONS AND EFFORTS BY
KODIAK CITIZENS AND GROUPS IN ORGANIZING THE
CHARTER KODIAK INAUGURAL BALL
WHEREAS, the charter Kodiak Inaugural Ball for Governor Walter J. Hickel held
January 3, 1991, was a significant event in our community; and
WHEREAS, many dignitaries, including members of the cabinet, also visited our
community for the event; and
WHEREAS, the meetings and balls could not have occurred without the assistance of
the American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW, VFW Auxiliary,
United States Coast Guard and the Kodiak Elks Club and Emblem Club;
and
WHEREAS, the special efforts of Jim Fisk and Bill Bishop were most appreciated;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
recognizes and applauds the contributions and efforts of these individuals
and groups in organizing and establishing this event.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 17th DAY OF JANUARY, 1991.
