RESOLUTION NO. 90-55
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING CONTINUATION OF THE WORK OF
DOT PORTS AND HARBORS TASK FORCE
WHEREAS, Alaska Department of Transportation has created
a Ports and Harbors Task Force to work with the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers, the Alaska Harbormasters Association, the Alaska
Industrial Development and Export Authority, Ports Alaska
Association, the ADOT, Commerce and Economic Development, DCRA, and
the private sector to develop a plan for operating and maintaining
Alaska's ports and harbors and making recommendations on financing
new port and harbor projects;
WHEREAS, Alaska marine ports and airports have played and
will play a key role in Alaska's economic development;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly recommends that the next governor of the State of
Alaska continue this planning effort under the new administration.
PASSED AND APPROVED THIS 20th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1990.
