RESOLUTION NO. 90-29
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE FY 91 SCHOOL DISTRICT BUDGET AND
DETERMINING THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FUNDS TO BE
MADE AVAILABLE FROM LOCAL SOURCES
WHEREAS, AS 14.14.060 specified that the Borough School
Board shall submit the school budget for the following school year
to the Borough Assembly by April 1 for approval; and
WHEREAS, within thirty days after receipt of the budget
the Assembly shall determine the amount of money to be made
available from local sources for school purposes and shall furnish
the School Board with a statement of the sum to be made available;
and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough School District did on
March 26, 1990 approve the FY 91 budget in the amount of
$16,240,000, and transit this to the Kodiak Island Borough
Assembly; and
WHEREAS, the budget requests that a total of $3,468,000
be appropriated from local sources;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Kodiak Island
Borough Assembly accepts the FY 91 Kodiak Island Borough School
District budget in the amount of $16,100,000 based on the projected
FY 91 funding by the State of Alaska and hereby authorizes funds
appropriated in the Kodiak Island Borough FY 1991 budget for the FY
1991 School District budget as follows:

$2,100,000 New local appropriation
760,000 Carry over funds
468,000 Insurance and other direct costs paid by Borough
$3,328,000 Total Local Appropriation
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Borough staff is hereby
instructed to notify the School District of this action and take
all steps necessary to assure that the local appropriation is
included in the FY 91 Kodiak Island Borough budget.
