1988-79 Amending Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Rates.A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BORIUG1 ASSEMBLY
AMENDING SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL RATES
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough, by passage of Ordinance No.
86 -34 -0, assumed the powers of Solid Waste Disposal and Collection within the
City of Kodiak; and
WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough, with the passage of Ordinance
E NO. 86 -37 -0, assumed the same powers in the area outside the cities on Kodiak
'Island; and
WHEREAS, rates for solid waste collection and disposal were
established by Resolution No. 86 -81 -R; and
II WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Task Force has recommended changes to the
«rates; and
WHEREAS, the solid waste collection contract effective December 29,
1988, is predicated on the revised rate schedule;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly
that solid waste collection and disposal rates effective January 1, 1989,
( shall be:
I1. Solid waste disposal fees at the landfill site:
a. Bagged residential garbage discharged from a passenger automobile,
pickup truck or a less than one yard trailer . . . .No charge
b. Constriction or commercial debris from a covered truck or
trailer of greater than one yard capacity . . . $ 35 per load
c. Garbage truck of carrying capacity $ 4 per yard
d. Asbestos disposal
Small Quantities: Per cubic yard increment in
hauling vehicle $ 100.00
Large Quantities:
Loose. 10 C.Y. Dump Truck or :under . . . . $1,000.00
Over 10 C.Y. Dump Truck . . $1,000.00 plus
$87.50 /c.y. over 10 c.y.
Bagged: Container Van $175.00 /foot of
I2.
Solid waste collection fees shall be:
a. Weekly residential door to door collection
service $14 per month
b. Residential collection from neighborhood
du:psters - - - $12 per month
c. The charge for residential carryout service is $10 00 in addition
to the charge for regular residential service.
d. Senior citizen residential rates are 758 of those listed above.
