1988-52 Establishing (Increasing)Solid Waste Collection and Disposal Rates.KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH RESOLUTION NO. 88 -52 -R By: Mayor Selby Recommended by: Solid Waste Task Force Introduced: 08 /18/88 Amended: 08/18/88 Defeated: 08/18/88 Reconsidered: 08/18/88 Adopted: 08/18/88 A RESOLUTION OF THE KODIAK ISLAND BOROUGH ASSEMBLY ESTABLISHING SOLID WASTE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL RATES WHEREAS, the Kodiak Island Borough, by passage of Ordinance No. 86 -34 -0, assumed the powers of Solid Waste Disposal and Collection within the City of Kodiak; and WHEREAS, the Kodiak Isladn Borough, with the passage of Ordinance No. 86 -37 -0, assumed the same powers in the area outside the cities on Kodiak Island: and WHEREAS, rates for solid waste collection and disposal were established by Resolution No. 86 -81 -R: and WHEREAS, the Solid Waste Task Force has recommended changes to tha rates: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Kodiak Island Borough Assembly that solid waste collection and disposal rates effective September 1, 1988 shall b.: 1. Solid waste disposal fees at the landfill site shall be: a. Bagged garbage discharged from a passenger automobile, pickup truck or a less than one yard trailer No charge b. Construction or commercial debris from a covered truck or trailer of greater than one yard capacity $20 per load c. Garbage truck $40 per load 2. Solid waste collection fees shall be: a. Weekly residential door to door collection service $14 per month b. Residential collection from neighborhood dumpsters $12 per month c. Commercial and governmental customers will be served by a private company by direct negotiation for service. Fees will be set, billed and collected by the company. d. Senior citizen rates for their residence are 751 of those listed above. e. Every residential unit will be charged for solid waste collection services. Units within the City of Kodiak will be billed by the city with their other utility bills. Resolution No. 88 -52 -R Page 1 of 2 1 3.
